Made of copper with nickel plated interior, each kettle is handcrafted in Tsubame City, Niigata Prefecture, Japan. With its high heat conductivity and antibacterial, sterilizing, and chlorine-dissolving properties, copper kettles were traditionally used for brewing herbal medicine. The spout includes a built-in strainer, making it an excellent choice for quickly boiling water as well as for brewing tea. The lightweight but durable copper develops a rich amber hue over time and is designed to endure with appropriate maintenance.

  • Rinse well using a soft sponge and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth after use
  • Do not use steel wool or scrubbers 
  • Fill the kettle to the base of the spout and do not boil at full capacity
  • Do not heat when empty
  • Lid and handle will become very hot when heated  
  • Polish with a soft cloth applied with equal parts vinegar and salt or slightly more salt, then rinse and dry thoroughly 
  • Before initial use, wash thoroughly with mild soap and warm water to remove the wax coating that has been applied to prevent discoloration
