These lightweight and stackable containers are made of wild Kiri known as Paulownia trees in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. With its humidity-controlling and insect-repelling properties, these wooden containers keep the rice fresh and protects its flavor. Crafted by MASUDA KIRIBAKO, a company well known for hand-making Kiri boxes since 1929 using traditional techniques that involves no use of hardware like nails and screws, these containers are made to last. Each comes with a Kimasu wooden measuring cup that adheres magnetically to the underside of the lid.
