Designed by Sori Yanagi, a Japanese industrial designer renowned for his simple and practical products ranging from furniture to kitchenware. As the son of the founder of the Mingei movement, Sori's designs were drawn from the aesthetics of Japanese folk crafts; finding beauty in the everyday objects made by unknown artists, focusing on using natural and local resources, traditional techniques and methods, and handmade production. The stainless steel cutlery series began in 1974 when Sori collaborated with Nihon Yoshokki in Tsubame City, Niigata Prefecture, Japan to design kitchen products that are beautiful and functional. The cake fork is made of 18-8 stainless steel that is highly durable and lightweight, and its seamless design makes it easy to clean. It is shaped with a flatter surface and a smaller tip that makes it easy to slice and carry cakes and pastries for the perfect size bite. Great for cut fruits and other desserts. Features a matte finish and a satiny texture that comes with a pleasant thickness and weight in the hands. Dishwasher safe but hand washing is recommended.
